In an interesting turn of events, for the first time ever, Pantone has chose two colors for Color of the Year 2016. To be more accurate, they have chosen a gradient as the color of the year. The gradient is a combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity.
These two colors are a soft contrast to last year’s bold Marsala. That deep, rich, bold earth tone. This year’s choice, has a calm, peaceful flow to it. Something the world definitely needs, in these harsh and combative times.
This year’s choice for color of the year made me very happy, as I was already leaning toward a similar color palette for my summer collection. I guess I am more in tone than I thought!
“Joined together Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
